MOLTENI&C PUTS SUSTAINABILITY FRONT AND CENTRE

The Molteni Group has always placed great emphasis on the concepts of quality and durability of its products. Among the novelties, this year the brand presents new eco-friendly fabrics and upholstery, in 100% recycled and biodegradable polyester, designed exclusively for the Paul sofa system.

A new eco-friendly upholstery

Exclusively for the Paul sofa system, the project marks an important step towards the use of more environmentally friendly goods. The new fibre is synthetic, in 100 % recycled and biodegradable polyester. Designed to return to nature, it provides a holistic and sustainable solution for product wear and eventual end of life.

The Packaging

Packaging is also part of the product industrialisation process. A project that has just been launched will soon lead to the total elimination of all packaging derived from petrochemicals such as plastic and polystyrene, replacing them with materials of natural origin, mainly derived from cellulose or wood.
FOCUSING ON SUSTAINABILITY, NEW MATERIALS AND WELL-BEING ACCORDING TO CASSINA
Cassina LAB, a project that studies innovative materials and their applications in producing products, from the timeless LC2 armchair by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand, to more recent furnishings available in the 2020 catalog offering new features in favor of wellness. The core principles of the research are founded on three levels, three pillars to start building the future, placing sustainability first. With this, the second pillar focuses on the study of new materials and their physical, mechanical, economical, environmental and, of course, emotional properties. The third and final pillar of this renewal comes in the form of a focus on well-being, a fundamental factor increasing the value of a design, especially when stemming from innovative and environmentally friendly solutions.
